Been following Hatcher's story for a few years now. He is such a cutie!
We live in Northern Kentucky and our son, Isaiah, is 8 years old and has HLHS. He had an attempted Fontan in 2008 but due to his restricted septum at birth that caused lung damage, his body rejected the Fontan and he was brought out of the OR with the Glenn shunt again.
He started going into heart failure in March 2011 and was placed on the heart transplant list in July at Cincinnati Childrens (this is the hospital that he receives all his care).
We have met lots of family along the way and one has a 5 year old son who also has plastic bronchitis. He did go to University of Michigan Mott's Children Hospital but transferred his care to Cincinnati Children's due to it being closer to home. They have done all the pre-transplant testing and he is hoping to be on the transplant list soon.
Is a heart transplant not an option for Hatcher? Didn't know if you all had gotten 2nd opinions or not. He's such a fighter and I pray he continues to fight through the plastic bronchitis.
Merry Christmas!
