Home on the Range

The other day Hatcher said, "Mom, I miss our old house." Thinking he was talking about our house we sold I asked why. "I miss that barn in my room." Realizing he was talking about his new room I told him that when he got better we would get to go back to his cowboy room. I guess he thinks we live at the hospital now. His favorite song is Home on the Range ... hoping we would be heading back to Idaho soon my sister put the song on our blog. When I pulled it up tonight I couldn't help but get a little emotional wishing we had made it out of here with Hatcher and Idaho was only a few weeks away. So tonight as I watch him sleep I will think of that home on the range and hope that I will get to make lots of memories there with my little cowboy!

  1. Thank you so much for the updates!

Please know that we as a congregation smile when you smile and cry when you cry!

I wish I could tell you why God chooses some of these difficult paths.

Possibly, it could be that without these trials we may never have had the opportunity to possitively impact somebody elses life that needed to find hope and peace in their life.

Or, maybe it is an opportunity God gives to very special people like yourselves to fully appreciate our Creator's love on a more intense, one-on-one level.

What I do know is that whatever the reason - God is a personal God that loves us more than we can think or imagine!

He has the very hair on our heads numbered and the Word of God states in Jeremiah 29:11 (KJV) "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end"

As you walk through this trial hour by hour and day by day - KNOW that God as our Shepherd has already walked the path - He has already been there - just take His hand and let Him lead.

With all of our love and continued prayers,

The Pastor and Congregation of Shoshone Assembly of God Church

  2. Britt-How Reading your blog has such love/hate moments for me, Sometimes I laugh sometimes I cry. But in the end I come away with eyes full of tears, a heart full of graditude, and an ample amount of prayers offered.
Your sweet family, and the cutest cowboy "on the range" have taught me sooooo much...I know it's not fair that it's at your expense, but How grateful I am for strength, and your testimonies. I hold my babies tighter, kiss them longer, and try to cherish them more and more everyday because of you!
Thank you for the strength you have shown me, I hope I never have to go through what your sweet family has, but I KNOW if I'm ever faced with it, I can be strong like you and make it through. We love you ALL and Pray for you!!

  3. I'm Becky. I found your blog through Miracle Mason's blog. My son is Hypoplastic Left Heart and has Plastic Bronchitis as well. I tried to comment earlier and it wouldn't let me so I left a note on Summer's blog to relay a message but I am going to try again. I know plastic bronchitis can be different for every patient but our doctors found that fat is the source for Matthew. We give him 1-2 grams of fat a meal is all. He does have out breaks of casts when he has surgery for some reason but for every day life, the no-fat diet is the trick. No nebs, no vest and no casts. He was diagnosed when he was 5 and is now almost 11. I hope this is helpful information and hope you can get your little guy home soon.

  4. We found your blogspot because we have serious heart problems in our family and when Becky came accross your situation she wanted to contact you. She has two heart patient children. Matthew, has hypoplastic left heart and is 11 years old. He is doing well despite huge problems in the past including plastic bronchitis. The doctors did a broncoscopy and sent the sample to the lab and found that it was largely made up of fat and they put him on a no fat diet. You might have your doctors contact Minniapolis children's hospital at the Children's heart clinic and ask about Matthew Zenn. Matthew still gets casts when he has heart surgery but they have quickly come under control with the continued low fat diet. We hope you get this and it helps. We know what you are going through.
