Hatcher

This is one of our favorite Drs. Regan! She has always gone above and beyond since Hathcer was a baby! Thanks for bringing the girls by the other day, it made my day! All clean and ready for bed! Now you just need to sleep!
Hatcher did get his fontan line and PD drain out, they ended up doing it this morning and all went well. He has had a rough couple of days, although we have seen improvement! His lungs looked better today - yeha bud! He and I had a long night last night, tossing and turning (ouch with those chest tubes), hallucinations, and a crazy night in the cvicu didn't help matters! I cried as I watched parents rush to their babies bedside in the middle of the night. And our love to the family who lost their 6 year old today. We have all been touched as so many have come to see her. So, lets just say that I was more than happy to see Randy walk in this morning fresh and ready to go! I was able to go and sleep today, thank goodness for a partner in all of this! Jaxyn talked to Hatcher on the phone 2 times today and although he didn't respond, you could tell he had a connection and listened so intently. The child life specialist brought by some bird seed to put outside his window so tomorrow he can watch the birds. It's crazy how much you can love such a little person. Jaxyn thank you for being such a big strong girl, I am so proud of you, we all miss you and can't wait till we are all together again. Keep being good for Pops and Grams.

  1. Wow - Britt, what a journey - "with miles to go before I sleep." So glad to see the progress and the sweet tender moments. This post really got me, not only are you under so much emotional ups and downs - but to have to see parents and kids around you going through so much, it's almost too much for the heart to bear. I had the most vivid dream last night. I had come there and walked into the apt. and there was Hatcher, walking around and all healed and talking. He let me hold him and you were going to a "going away" party that some of the staff and friends were giving you b/c you were all going home soon. For some reason you wanted Hatcher to stay at the apt. and I got to babysit him and he fell asleep on me. It was so real. I love you so much and hope you, Randy, Hatcher and Mom have a great day. Lots of sponge drinks . . . and hopefully more than that soon!
